I'm running on a fairly high level of frustration right now, mostly because I just had the absolute pleasure of discovering a bag of potatoes in the kitchen that we bought and then everyone forgot about. Somehow I'm the only one who, when there's a slight smell or a couple of flies, thinks to look around to figure out what's going on. Love it. Sure, my store crap is in the way of cleaning a lot of things in this house. We're out of space. But I get the feeling sometimes that even when I get the piles of boxes and stuff out of here and into the store, I'll STILL end up being the one who ends up having to clean the rest of the house.
But anyway, while I'm energized with frustration I figure I might as well blog.
Topic 1: Hooray for Lance
Yeah, it's awesome that Lance is out. And kudos, 'cause I know how hard it is. I even know what it feels like to be trying to figure out how you're going to tell your parents and then be outed before you get the chance. It's always easier, though, to live with a stigma than live with a secret, and I'm nothing but excited for Lance right now.
But there's one thing that bugs me. I think it's great that so many fans have voiced their support for him on MySpace and elsewhere. It's great to see so many people saying they support him no matter what. But it makes me wonder...
Will you support him when it comes down to the REAL issue? All you people who love Lance and are sending him nice messages -- do you REALLY support him? Do you support him enough to let him get married? Do you support him enough to care about adding sexual preference to the hate crimes law? Do you support him enough to want him to be able to adopt a child? Or will you turn around and say no to all those things because they're "wrong" and just talk nice on MySpace because, well, it's Lance?
I just hope people think about how much they support Lance and Reichen when it's actually important; when it applies to ALL of us.
Topic 2: Um... I swear I had one...
Well, I should be working anyway. I hopefully have three and a half weeks to be ready to open the store. Back to work for me.
