So, when Kourt and I went to Jersey to hang with her family for the holidays we became, within the space of a week, totally addicted to Guitar Hero II. Now, I don't usually play video games much. If they involve shooting and running and jumping and driving little video game vehicles, I suck at them. Hardcore. I've just never put much effort into becoming good at that sort of thing. I tend to prefer the old games like, you know, PacMan. Or Pong. Centipede. Frogger. Yeah, that kind of old, 2-D stuff.
But I'm good at Guitar Hero. By the time I left New Jersey in December I'd already beaten it on Medium and had 5 stars on all the songs on Easy. Totally addicted.
So, back in January we splurged for a Playstation 2 and got the game so we could feed our addiction. I've never owned a game system. Ever. The last time I played video games was back in high school when my little brother borrowed a friend's Nintendo. I rocked at Duck Hunt, sucked royally at but couldn't help playing Super Mario Bros.
Anyway, last night after we got home from our trip to Chicago (VIP tickets to Justin Timberlake, baby) I sat down to play a little. Hadn't touched it in about a week, at least, and I'd been stuck just one song shy of beating the game. But I finally did it: Freebird on Expert. Yeah, I rock. Got 4 stars on it, too.
Kinda makes me want to go to Best Buy and play the demo, just to show off.
