Itchy and Scratchy

So all of a sudden we have a flea infestation even though we don't have an outdoor cat. Damn crazy cat lady in our neighborhood "adopts" strays but doesn't treat them for fleas or put collars on them or get them fixed so they just run around loose and keep the neighborhood infested with the damn bugs. I'm guessing they follow us into the house on our clothes or whatever. In any case, Master Shake is the lucky one. He gets flea drops. We just get fleas jumping on our ankles.

So, last night I couldn't take it anymore and I set up a candle in a shallow bowl of soap water to combat the fleas in the office. Why there are more of them in there than in the living room when Shake isn't usually allowed into the office is beyond me. Anyway, being the nervous pyrophobic that I am, I couldn't just leave a candle burining in the middle of a closed room in a glass container sitting in a bowl of water because, you know, the air conditioning could possibly somehow blow a scrap of paper into the candle and burn the house down. So I sat on the couch all night and busied myself reading The DaVinci Code. I've been meaning to read it for a while, and WOW is it an awesome read! Best part about it, though, is that I've been to a lot of the places in Paris, so I could totally picture what was going on. Very cool. Can't wait for the movie. Anyway, had to read the whole thing in one sitting because I couldn't put it down.

And now I'm SOOOO tired. Plus, work sucked. People suck. In general.
